The New Fall Season
The New Fall Season
It all started early this morning when I happened on a blog and was inspired to dust off the laptop and do a little creative typing. I began earnestly clicking away at very serious (very boring) paragraphs of collected, joyless crap.
Thankfully the second cup of coffee shortened my attention span and I found myself bouncing all over the internets until I landed on this blog entry which made me laugh until tears were running down my face. The Bloggess cracks me up. That made me want to write even more.
True to my nature, when setting out to write, I must first have the proper tools. Having ruled out manic weekend shopping excursions while paying my bills, I settled for the next-best mandatory first step before any writing could be done: website redesign.
Unlike shopping, toying with websites requires you to enter a username and password. Somewhere deep in the ancient history of internet onset the “never use the same username and password for all your accounts” maxim etched itself in permanent marker on my brain. Shitty advice by the way, unless you enjoy whiling away hours playing twenty questions with your identity. The more accounts I open and the older I get, the harder it is to remember the answers to my secret questions.
Anyway, MANY hours, two meals, a bottle of wine and the end of Brian’s patience for me making the tiniest change and asking his opinion later, and the new site is up. I’m pretty sure I don’t hate it, but now I’m too exhausted to write and am going to bed.
